একটি গরীব পরিবারের মেয়ের বাবা, তার মেয়ে সন্তান জন্মানোর সাথে সাথেই তার মাথাই ভবিষ্যতের বড়ো দায়িত্ব এসে পড়ে। কারণ মেয়ে বড়ো হলেই তার বিয়ের খরচের টাকা যোগার করতে হবে। তবে কিছু মহান মানব দরদী মানুষ, এর কিছু সমাধান বার করেছেন। সরকার এবং কিছু মহান হৃদয়ের বিশিষ্ট মানুষ মিলে গরীব কন্যার বাবা মায়ের চিন্তা দূর করে আসছেন বেশ কিছু বছর ধরে। বছরের এক দিন ১০১ টি গনবিবাহের মাধ্যমে ১০১ টি কন্যার বাবা মায়ের চিন্তা দূর করে আসছেন তারা।
পূর্ব বর্ধমানের কাঞ্চননগরের কঙ্কালেশবরী কালিবাড়ির মাঠে অনুষ্ঠিত হয় এই ১০১ গনবিবাহ অনুষ্ঠান টি। যেখানে হিন্দু মুসলিম ও সাঁওতাল পরিবারের পাত্র পাত্রী এই গনবিবাহ অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
